CARM Volunteers receive an Award

CARM provides support and services to older and vulnerable people on Romney Marsh and parts of rural Ashford, in order to reduce their social isolation and improve their access to services.

The villages and small towns of the Marsh and the south of Ashford borough each have their own identity and character. The coastal strip from Dymchurch through to Lydd-on-Sea has the greatest numbers of people who have retired to the area, many from London or north Kent. They often do not have the informal networks in place to support them, and this is where CARM comes in.

CARM became a registered charity in 1997 (no. 1067189), having previously operated as a project under the umbrella of the Council for Social Responsibility.

Our services are now used by over 300 people each week.
